Two Perspectives

One Island

Traveling from the luxurious Can Aulí, nestled in Pollença, to the Valldemossa Hotel surrounded by a breath-taking mountain village highlights Mallorca’s versatility. Yet, the hotel group IT Mallorca to which both belong ensures that amenities and service feel just the same. Continuity meets variety.

Can Aulí in the old town of Pollença is not a conventional hotel. Hidden behind the stone wall of a 17th-century manor house, this boutique hotel is surrounded by imposing stone arches and staircases, combining modern chic with the rich history of the town. A skillful mix of old and new, as well as local and contemporary art makes this 5-star luxury hotel a very special place, close to unique nature and Mallorcan culture. With 21 rooms, guests have all the privacy they could wish for.

The warm and muted earth tones, the stone floors and sisal carpets blend in perfectly with the historic building. The location could not be better. The hotel is located right next to the old village square of Pollença, where the traditional market with local artwork and textiles takes place every Sunday. The Calvari de Pollença viewpoint and the port of Pollença are also close by.

Valldemossa, a mountain village that became famous as Frédéric Chopin’s winter residence in 1838/39: Chopin wrote large parts of his Préludes op. 28 here, including the famous Raindrop Prelude. Furthermore, the area also impresses with its unique nature and setting. The Hotel Valldemossa is nestled in a one-of-a-kind mountain landscape. Surrounded by cypresses and palm trees the former 19th century Royal Charterhouse Palace of King Sancho of Mallorca, has now been converted into a five star luxury hotel.

The property is shaped by the owner, Miguel Conde, and his wife Cristina Marti, an architect. Their mission to preserve the history of the building and yet design it in a contemporary way has been achieved in every respect. Imposing halls and rooms that still contain every detail of its Mallorcan roots are combined with a twist of art and modern interior design.

Original furniture by Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Miguel Milá are accented with contemporary art by Jordi Alcaraz, Aythamy Armas and Antonia Ferrer. Contemporary art generally plays a major role in all IT Mallorca hotels. Many of the works were commissioned directly for the hotel.
