HANSEN & SØN
HANSEN & SØN
This spring, Carl Hansen & Søn opened its second store in Germany in a heritage-protected building in Munich. At Residenzstraße 22, in the direct vicinity of the historic Residenzschloss and the Bavarian State Opera, Carl Hansen & Søn now presents its design icons by architects such as Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen.
The new flagship store shows the craftsmanship of the traditional Danish brand on 335 square meters. After all, CARL HANSEN & SØN has been making furniture for over 110 years, timeless design and quality that has to be experienced for yourself.
In addition to products that cannot be purchased online, customers of the Munich store have the opportunity to receive individual advice from interior stylists. Together with an interior consultant, clients have the opportunity to discuss their specific needs and develop a plan that meets their desires. In the future the store will also host luxurious events.

Kaare Klint’s KK9662 Faaborg Chair was designed in 1914 for contemplating artwork at the Danish Faaborg Museum. A design that is only available in the Carl Hansen & Søn flagship stores.

With its simple shape, the Plico Chair is a fine example of how to combine design with comfort. A specially shaped solid oak frame gives it ultimate stability. Saddle leather armrests which are anchored to the curved back legs create a striking statement. And the exposed brass hardware adds character to the chair, and the back, seat as well as neck cushions are comfortably upholstered in quilted linen canvas.
This foldable lounge chair was designed by Danish design duo Fabricius Kastholm. When folded, the chair takes up hardly any space; when opened, it offers excellent seating comfort. Hence the name: Plico is the Latin word for “fold”. The chair is available in two versions with high or low backrest.
