Jil Sander introduces Olfactory Series 1, a bold new fragrance collection shaped by the creative vision of Lucie and Luke Meier. Featuring six minimalist, gender-neutral scents, the debut series reimagines perfumery by blending botanical elements with advanced technology.
At the core of the collection lies the use of aldehydes—synthetic molecules that function like flashes of light, slicing through familiar natural notes to unveil surprising depth and crystalline clarity. With LEAF, MIEL, BLACK TEA, COFFEA, EARTH and SMOKE, the collection explores a wide range of sensory dimensions. EARTH, for example, evokes the scent of rain-soaked soil by combining rose, patchouli and matsutake mushroom to create a hyper-realistic interpretation of nature. SMOKE, on the other hand, explores the interplay of light and shadow, blending cedarwood and cade with airy laundry accords to evoke a mysterious yet effortlessly wearable tension.
The slightly asymmetrical shapes of the flacons, created by design studio Formafantasma, make each bottle unique, as individual as the fragrances themselves—and the perfect embodiment of the balance between craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.
